{"id":227,"date":"2011-01-19T15:12:54","date_gmt":"2011-01-19T22:12:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/?p=227"},"modified":"2011-04-02T15:20:05","modified_gmt":"2011-04-02T22:20:05","slug":"garlic-pork-shoulder-stuffed-peppers-zubread","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/garlic-pork-shoulder-stuffed-peppers-zubread\/","title":{"rendered":"Garlic Pork Shoulder, Stuffed Peppers, Zucchini Bread"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been taking some pictures of some really great food we&#8217;ve made  lately, and now I&#8217;ll more or less be dumping them here.<\/p>\n<p>First up, the biggest hit, Monday night&#8217;s Garlic Pork Shoulder in a red wine reduction.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0117011852.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-228\" title=\"0117011852\" src=\"http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0117011852-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"455\" height=\"341\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0117011852-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0117011852-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0117011852.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 455px) 100vw, 455px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I chopped peeled cloves of garlic into slivers, then placed them into  slots cut into the pork shoulder. Then browned top and bottom in a cast  iron pan on the stove with butter, onions, and mushrooms &#8211; once browned  it moved to the oven, pan and all at 350 for about 35 min. The red wine  sauce was from <a href=\"http:\/\/freetheanimal.com\/2010\/12\/leangains-the-dietary-approach.html\">FTA<\/a>. Eggplant was cut into 1\/4&#8243; chips, drizzled with EVOO, sprinkled with salt and pepper, and toasted on a cookie sheet.<\/p>\n<p><em>Jump for stuffed peppers, chicken legs, and zucchini bread.<\/em><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/posterous.com\/javascripts\/tiny_mce\/plugins\/pagebreak\/img\/trans.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Second, Stuffed Bell Peppers from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.primal-palate.com\/2010\/08\/spicy-stuffed-peppers.html\">the food lovers<\/a>. Only change we made was a light sprinkling of pepperjack on top.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0115011921.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-229\" title=\"0115011921\" src=\"http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0115011921-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"455\" height=\"341\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0115011921-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0115011921-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0115011921.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 455px) 100vw, 455px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Third, The Girlfriend made a ton of drumsticks because they were  pretty much free at the store (we got 12 of them for like $3.00). She  followed <a href=\"http:\/\/thepioneerwoman.com\/cooking\/2008\/01\/spicy_roasted_chicken_legs_-_tasty_and_easy_too\/\">this recipe<\/a> with a more natural spice package. I made the creamed kale a la <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marksdailyapple.com\/slow-cooked-heart-on-fire-with-creamed-kale\/\">MDA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/100_4027.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-230\" title=\"100_4027\" src=\"http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/100_4027-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"455\" height=\"303\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/100_4027-1024x682.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/100_4027-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 455px) 100vw, 455px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Finally, a wonderfully delicious way to deal with our problem of having too much zucchini: Zucchini Bread!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0119011847.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-231\" title=\"0119011847\" src=\"http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0119011847-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"455\" height=\"341\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0119011847-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0119011847-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.engrevo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/0119011847.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 455px) 100vw, 455px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>She followed <a href=\"http:\/\/myprimalkitchen.blogspot.com\/2010\/09\/paleo-zucchini-bread.html\">this recipe<\/a>,  but used EVOO in place of Canola, and 1\/4 cup honey total in place of  the prescribed honey and agave nectar. I can&#8217;t believe how good it is,  especially slathered in butter. It is absolutely amazing, and something  everyone would eat &#8211; it&#8217;s not simply a patchy imitation bread product.
